Application Engineer – Nottingham - Ref: BCJ1109
Our client in Nottingham is
currently urgently seeking a Building Services Estimator / Application
Engineer to start immediately. This is a permanent position and will
operate from the client’s Nottingham office. The key function of the
role is to be conversant with all aspects of building services
engineering such that enquiries can be processed from initial receipt to
submission of quotations and to consequently pursue these with the
Customer making all efforts to convert the quotations into orders.
Duties will include liaison with the Business Development Manager and
other members of the sales department on a regular basis; retaining
regular contact with their own customers and update office databases as
appropriate; Consultation of a 3 year business plan on a regular basis
and forward any proposed amendments to the Regional Director for
consideration / approval; registration of any formal enquiries into the
centralised data base; identification of whether the job specifics
necessitate design input or not; Assessment of the project particulars
and liaising fully with the customer to ensure that we have interpreted
their requirements correctly; Undertaking any site surveys as required;
preparation of any sketches of the proposed works as required;
preparation of an estimate sheet incorporating firm and accurate base
costs; Liaising with their line manager regarding any aspects that they
require assistance or clarification with to ensure that the resultant
quotation gives us the best opportunity of securing an order;
Preparation and submission of quotes, and follow up calls to the
customer to ensure that they are in receipt of the quote and to acquire
as much feedback as possible to evaluate our potential; Preparation of
the relevant handover notes and pass the file to contracts. UK HVAC
experience and an ONC/HNC in building services would be ideal but not
essential.

Trainee Fire Estimator – Milton Keynes - Ref: BCJ1028

seeking an individual who has a background in Building
Services/Construction and who is looking to develop within a multi
million pound industry.
This role will be challenging for the successful candidate who will be
supported in producing estimates for the installation of sprinkler,
gaseous suppression, detection and other associated products. As part of
your primary responsibilities the successful candidate will be required
to: Compile accurately priced timely submissions; Identify all costs
associated with tender; Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
ensuring best value; Work closely with the Senior Estimator, and carry
out site visits to ensure correct information obtained for estimate
production. Ideally our client is looking for someone from an M&E
background, with some exposure to estimation or costing.
