Mechanical Project Director
required for well established national multi-disciplinary consultancy in
London City.
The purpose of the role is to provide project Services Engineering
Consultancy Support services in London, the regions and internationally.
To assist the management team in developing the corporate objectives of
an Engineering Centre of Technical Excellence and an Executive Services
Engineering Consultancy. To contribute to a successful and profitable
business and to achieve the agreed corporate objectives.
The role involves joining a small established division of a
multi-disciplinary consultancy. The successful candidate will have
attained recognition by a relevant professional body, suitable
qualifications and demonstrated experience and ability to serve clients
and work to a high professional standard in a manner leading to the
generation of repeat business and new work opportunities.
The successful candidate will carry out all aspects of project work
across a full range of project appointments in all market sectors to the
client’s recognised standards, using the latest approved systems. They
will be responsible for the preparation of fee proposals for new works
in conjunction with the Divisional Director. They will be responsible
for production progress and financial reports including cost and income
updates reports.
This role will suit a talented individual who enjoys working in a modern
non-traditional environment. Furthermore the successful candidate will
be expected to share the main boards philosophy in creating a high
quality profitable business.
This role will require candidates with a proven track record of services
engineering design and project management, capable of operating
independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team. The successful
appointee will most probably already be working in a project management
role in a similar function for Services Engineering contractor or
consultant. The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to
promote value and deliver high quality services engineering across all
construction market sectors.
The candidate will most probably possess a degree or other professional
qualification and be recognised as a qualified services engineer by
retaining suitable professional membership of a recognised professional
body such as CIBSE IE InstR etc.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate extensive relevant
experience and capability in the provision of all: Service surveys for
condition, dilapidation and acquisition including investment advice and
commercial awareness; System concept consideration, design and
feasibility reporting; Detailed design, design management and third
party design management; Front line technical project management;
Maintenance audit and management.
The candidate shall be able to demonstrate the following attributes: A
detailed theoretical and practical understanding of services engineering
principles system and solutions across all market sectors; The ability
to demonstrate technical excellence and to promote value to the project
team to the highest standard; To be self motivated with the ability to
independently represent the division on multi-service appointments or as
part of a team of engineers; The ability to achieve deadlines and to
manage and motivate colleagues and additional resources to achieve the
project objectives; A high level of initiative, commitment and common
sense in all aspects of professional work and a desire to provide own
input into the company as a whole; Commercial awareness of the property
and construction industry; A proven track record in leadership and
business development; An ability serve clients to obtain repeat business
and to obtain new clients and work opportunities; a can-do attitude,
computer literacy and a current and valid UK driving licence.
A generous remuneration package is available for this position including
non-contributory pension, 25 days holiday (increasing to 30 after 5
