Building Services Design Engineer -
Hertfordshire - M326
A vacancy has become
available for a Senior Mechanical Building Services Design
Engineer to work within a multidiscipline environment. The
successful candidate will be Degree Qualified and preferably a
member of a recognised Institute such as CIBSE. The level
of experience required for this position means that the
successful candidate is unlikely to have been working within the
field of Building Services Design for less than 10 years, will
be well versed in working on highly serviced design and
construction projects without supervision and in supervising the
work of intermediate and junior staff.
The successful candidate will be answerable to the Chief
Mechanical Engineer and will be required to carry out all
necessary design functions covering HVAC systems, pipework
systems, plant sizing and selection and calculations using both
manual and computerised methods. Experience in using the IES
suite of calculation software (previously known as Facet) would
be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have a good and current
understanding of Building Regulations and how they affect
Mechanical Building Services Design. This refers in particular
to the New Part L Building Regulations.
The successful candidate will have a good command of both spoken
and written English and will be able to hold technical
discussions with Clients and other design team members and
produce clear and lucid technical reports and specifications.
The position will entail working on a range of projects
throughout the UK including initial concept studies, site
surveys, preliminary design and detailed design. The value of
the projects will range from £100K to £25M and will comprise
both refurbishment and new build projects. As much of our
work takes place within the Pharmaceutical Sector, experience in
the design of Chemical or Biological Research Laboratories,
Secondary Manufacturing Facilities such as Tableting Suites,
Clean Room Design up to Class 100 and other Healthcare related
projects would be an advantage.
Experience of working in a multidiscipline environment will also
be of benefit.
The position is available immediately and our client is looking
to fill the position as soon as possible. The position
carries a competitive salary, 23 days Annual Leave, Private
