Estimator required by London City consultancy.
Our client is part of a group of companies and operates through a
regional structure, with each region managed by a Regional Director. The
regions are responsible for the winning and delivery of contracts and in
order to carry out this task each office has project managers,
estimators, commercial managers, site engineers, site based operatives
and sub-contractors. The estimating department is responsible for the
completion of all tenders in line with the sales strategy for the
Company and Region. The department works closely with the business
development area of the Region and estimators are required to be client
facing. During the sales system, the estimators will plan and manage the
throughput of the tenders to ensure that they are completed in full and
to the client's requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities of this post include: Responsible for
the management and coordination of estimates as directed by the
Estimating Manager. In addition to provide a significant contribution to
the region's success in developing sustainable and profitable repeat
business with key clients through close relationships. A good knowledge
of electrical installation techniques and British standards is required.
The company reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and
responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs
of the company's business; Responsible for preparation of sound
Electrical & Mechanical tenders in line with Company norms, liaison with
the client and attendance of interviews and presentations; Carry out
site visits for familiarisation on refurbishment enquiries; IT literate
with an eye for detail in order to prepare accurate, computerised
estimates on all types of electrical and / or mechanical installation
enquiries; Representing the company at pre- mid- and post-tender
meetings; Good communication and presentation skills; A good working
relationship with other staff, management and clients; Estimates are
typically prepared as part of the preparation of competitive bids or
tenders to be submitted to clients as part of the process of securing
profitable new work. Enquiries may take the form of: Plan and
Specification, Design and Build, Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Rates.
